About The Artist
Senior Artist Fabiana Gomes
is always on the go. She describes her own style as “urban and simple,” which she credits to the fast pace of life in her hometown of São Paulo, the largest city in Brazil. “I have very little time to do my own makeup,” she confesses, “you’ll usually find me applying makeup in cabs or on the plane.” Her go-to look is polished skin with a red lip, and she’s happy to see a revival of classic, rouge stains both on the streets at home and abroad. Here she shares top tips for enhancing the eye, giving yourself a natural glow and transforming your look from day to night.
“Nowadays it’s all lips, lips and lips. Brazilian women are obsessed with lips! It could be pink, coral and, of course, RED. The skin must look very natural. Women like to hear: “Oh how amazing your skin looks!” Not: “Which foundation are you wearing?” Bronzing products are classic and now we’re using them to create shadow and emphasize cheekbones. Refined Golden is an amazing shade since it has a subtle shimmer.
“My own makeup style is very urban and simple. I love to draw attention to one feature of the face. I feel naked without my red lips – Russian Red is the king – and when I choose smoky eyes, I like to do it with Smolder, Tarnish or Teddy Eye Kohl, lots of Haute & Naughty Lash. If I’m taking a look from day to night, I use Fluidline in Blitz & Glitz; the colour is amazing: black with gold pearl. Classic and sophisticated! And for a really intense smoky eye, I use the 242 Shader Brush.

“I once did a wonderful shoot in Paris with a Brazilian actress that was amazing. I changed her brows – made them bigger and higher. To achieve this effect I used Impeccable Brows combined with Eye Brows in Spiked. The idea was to push them up in a fashionable way. I paired the brows with glamorous red lips using Russian Red and Cremestick Liner in Red Enriched. I wanted her to look like a contemporary queen! All the outfits were red: high drama, high glamour, high beauty!”
